Every November the Just Garden Project, Labateyah United Indians Foundation, and One T
otem team up to celebrate the spirit of the season in a unique way. We come together as a community to push past the stigmas we often associate with Thanksgiving and celebrate how natives and non-natives connect with one another today. In honor of National American Indian & Alaskan Native Heritage month, we celebrate the traditions and continuing contributions Native Americans make to this country today.
The first part of the day is spent working together in the garden and then we move inside to prepare and share a meal together. As is the case with most JGP events, we enjoy music, dancing, good food, and an opportunity to connect with our community and make new friends.
